Mario Balotelli’s heard there is a vacancy for English football’s resident winker and he thinks he can step up to the plate. The Manchester City nutcase managed to get himself into a scrap with Rio Ferdinand when he should have been celebrating Manchester City’s FA Cup semi-final victory over their city rivals United.
After the match, Ferdinand tweeted: “If you score a goal and give a bit to opposing fans I kind of accept that. But at the final whistle, go to your fans and enjoy it, not opposing fans.”
It would appear that Balotelli’s celebrations in front of United supporters was the catalyst for the fracas.
Ete-witness Nani said: “He was showing his badge to our fans and Anderson just took him out from in front of our fans. Rio was very angry because it is not fair, it was very disrespectful to do that in front of the fans. We were not happy with that.”
The FA is awaiting referee Mike Dean’s match report before deciding on any disciplinary action.
