Diego Maradona has seemingly snubbed the score of top Premier League clubs he claimed were interested in appointing him to take charge of Dubai outfit Al Wasl.
The Argentine legend has signed a two-year deal starting at the beginning of next season in September.
In a statement, the club said: “Al Wasl can confirm soliciting the services of one of the greatest footballers of all time.”
Yes, Maradona is one of the few football managers who you would ‘solicit services from’, we reckon.
Perhaps addressing the key issue, Al Wasl chairman Marwan Bin Bayat added: “The value of the contract is worthy of the stature and reputation of the great legend.”
We can’t see it lasting.
