Tireless Ji-Sung Park is powered by frog juice
Ji-Sung Park has revealed the secret behind his boundless energy: frog juice.
The Manchester United midfielder’s father trekked from their home in Suwon to Go-heung county to buy frogs for one of the world’s least-appealing protein drinks.
Park and his dad were concerned that his slight frame could stop his footballing ambitions in their tracks. So, they boiled up the frog juice to create the South Korean’s amphibian appetiser.
The 30-year-old – or ‘Young Park’ as Ray Wilkins likes to call him – said: “My father went to catch wild frogs. I was skinny and weak and my father heard their juice would give me size and strength.
“It tasted very, very bad but I had to drink it because I wanted to be a footballer and everyone said I needed to be bigger and stronger.
“They said it was good for my health to become stronger and I ate anything that would improve my health.”
Looks like it did the trick.
