Bet’s be ‘avin you: Football betting tips for the 30 December – 1st January

There are not many games on New Years Eve Eve, and I would advise to stay away from a home victory at Anfield. Liverpool may have not lost at home this season, but with Andy Carroll the principal striking option available, I would rather eat more turkey. Instead bet on Southampton to beat Bristol City by more than one goal, and then Huddersfield and Crawley to do the same.
£10 on Southampton, Huddersfield and Crawley all to win by more than one goal gets you £134

For the second bet we are banking on some big wins in the Premier League. Manchester United will surely obliterate Blackburn, Chelsea will respond to their draw with Fulham by punishing Aston Villa. Combine these two with Stoke beating Wigan and Norwich beating a Fulham side that have scored just five goals away from home this season.
£10 on Manchester United to win by more than three goals, Chelsea by more than one goal and Stoke and Norwich to win gets you £251

The Football League bet predicts a Cardiff win away at Nottingham Forest, Sheffield United to continue their winning run against Hartlepool, Middlesbrough to win at the Riverside once again and Reading to beat Ipswich. I know, I know, giving up betting on the Championship should be a New Years resolution, but f*ck it, I won a lot of money on the nags after Christmas (Kauto Star and Le Beau Bai if you’re asking).
£10 on Cardiff, Sheffield United, Middlesbrough and Reading gets you £133

The final bet contains the fixtures from New Years Day, and a couple of first goalscorer bets on the two live Premier League games:
£5 on Paul Scharner to score the first goal gets you £105
£5 on Yaya Toure to score the first goal gets you £65

Might well keep a running total this year, just to keep track of where all my money goes.
