Tottenham midfielder Sandro becomes world’s least likely darts player, gets tips from Bobby George
Spurs star Sandro has revealed he’s been enticed by the great British past-time of darts.
The midfielder reckons he might be the first Brazilian ‘baller to try his hand at arrows. And Sandro is so caught-up with his new hobby that he regularly has darts legend and walking pawnshop Bobby George round for a game.
He said: “I found it very interesting and a colleague said he would buy me a dartboard. Then I had an interview with Bobby George and he showed me how to play. And I am good. Now and then he just comes to my house and we play.
“I don’t play too much against the other Spurs players. Heurelho Gomes is rubbish! I might be the first Brazilian footballer, or even the first Brazilian, to play darts. I gave my mum some darts and she took them to Brazil and now everyone is playing.”
Heurelho Gomes bad at something that involves hand-eye coordination. Who’d have thought it?
It’s not yet apparent whether Sandro has deemed a gumshield necessary for his new sport.
