OTP Euro 2012 Podcast – June 16th: Swede ‘n’ Sour
England involved in an exciting game at a major tournament. Helder Postiga and Nicklas Bentdner appearing on the same pitch and both scoring. Olof Mellberg challenging for the Golden Boot. It’s all going off in Poland and Ukraine.
So, as things step up a notch at Euro 2012, why not let the Off The Post Podcast lead you on an audio journey through the second round of group games where we’ll be talking about all the goals, all the group standings, and a bit of the following:
- Why Giovanni Trapattoni is so Keane for a slagging match.
- Why everyone’s favourite Alan is looking razor sharp as Russia’s top scorer.
- Taiwanese-animated plunger-wielding Polish fans.
- And why George Osbourne needs to crack out the red and white body paint in the next government Cabinet meeting.
We’ve also got our quarter-final predictions, our choices for what should replace the England band, a big pod debut for Howard the Psychic Duck and, of course, a healthy dose of the ITV sax, coming at you straight from 1992.

OTP Podcast presents… Howard the Psychic Duck. Forget studying past form and taking account of pundit opinions, the only betting tip-off you need is from a plastic duck. Not only is the beaked medical marvel a lovely companion in the bath, he’s proved himself to be an uncanny clairvoyant for England national team results.
The first the Pod heard of the hooliganism marring the Poland v Russia clash was when we watched the infamous Taiwanese animation company’s version of events. Having later caught up on slightly more respectable news outlets, we were thoroughly disappointed to see that were no bears driving tanks through Warsaw last Tuesday night.
