The Metro newspaper demonstrated just how unhappy Liverpool fans are with their horrendous new third kit… by anonymously quoting an Everton fanzine.
When Skies Are Grey is a popular Toffees fanzine which has been around since 1988. But today’s Metro describes it as a “disgruntled Liverpool fan”.
A Metro journo was obviously trawling Twitter for a few quotes to stand up his story ‘Liverpool fans cringe at controversial new purple, orange and white third kit’. And he thought he’d found just what he was looking for when he discovered this:
Liverpool’s third kit has built in tattooed sleeves. Ace. Just what inky gimps like Bellamy and Skrtel need.

As you can see in the screengrab at the top of this post, this made it’s way into the story as:
‘Liverpool’s third kit has built in tattooed sleeves. Ace. Just what inky gimps like Bellamy and Skrtel need,’ posted one disgruntled fan.
Alas, a quick click on the Twitter profile would have revealed that it belongs to the aforementioned Goodison fanzine, who were wading in with their own input on their rivals’ new kit.
Nonetheless, this will probably be well received by Reds who would like to see all Everton fans as disgruntled Liverpool fans!
Thanks to Dan O’Connor for the tip.
