Fiorentina keeper Emiliano Viviano wants goal disallowed after howler because he’s injured
Fiorentina goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano went to some lengths to excuse his clanger in a pre-season friendly against Galatasaray.
The hapless keeper let Umut Bulut’s fairly harmless effort bounce off his hands and into the net after failing to get his body behind the shot.
He immediately began waving his hands at the referee to suggest the goal should be disallowed because he was injured, before concentrating on rolling around on the ground and doing his best Adolf Hitler impersonation.
Viviano was stretchered off the pitch amid fears that he’d seriously aggravated on old knee ligament injury.
But just over 24 hours later, even Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Montella seems to be doubting his keeper.
Montella said: “With Viviano there seems to be nothing serious, but the doctor will surely be more accurate than me about that.”
