When it became clear that Juventus needed a striker at the beginning of the transfer window, many stellar names were linked with the club, including Luis Suarez, Gonzalo Higuain and Robin Van Persie. Eventually, the Old Lady got hold of the wrong Arsenal striker, tying up a loand deal (with view to permanent deal) for Nicklas Bendtner, a striker that even Sunderland turned down the chance to sign.
It appears that despite the Dane’s incredibly high opinion of himself, things are not going well in Turin. Fans were left understandably underwhelmed by the signing, and now it seems that the club have reportedly told the striker that he is not in shape.
After his first training session in Italy, Juventus medical staff have ordered the Denmark international to go on a strict diet, after putting on weight between Euro 2012 and the start of the season.
Even worse than that, former Juve midfielder Alessandro Tacchinardi zinged Bendtner by saying: “I will not say Bendtner is a bad player but he does not help improve Juventus either”. This is a club containing Spurs reject Reto Ziegler. Ouch.
