Prince William proved he’s the perfect FA president by losing a penalty shootout to a 13-year-old lad in the Solomon Islands.
The young goalkeeper challenged Britain’s second-in-line to the throne to beat him from the spot… and William responded as only an Englishman on foreign soil can: with a series of misses.
The 30-year-old tucked his first spot-kick away, before the young goalie saved his next two efforts.
Goalkeeper Philemon Fatai, gracious in victory, proclaimed: “He’s good – but not as good as me.”
If we really want to send an ambassador round the world who won’t embarrass us when confronted by 13-year-old keepers, perhaps the Queen should buy Michael Owen out of his Stoke contract.
