Ashley Cole looks set for a fine and suspension of his own after using an expletive in his Twitter review of the FA’s report into the John Terry racism case.
The Chelsea left-back’s evidence was called into question in the 63-page report published today, prompting Cole to tweet: “Hahahahaa, well done #fa I lied did I, #BUNCHOFT***S”.
The tweet was deleted 90 minutes after being published this lunchtime, but had been retweeted
more than 20,000 times in the meantime.
You have to suspect the incident might turn into something that, one way or another, brings Cole’s England career to a close.
