Tonight’s televised Championship clash between Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United was overshadowed by an on-pitch assault on Owls keeper Chris Kirkland.

The former Liverpool player had just conceded an equaliser when injury was added to insult by a moronic Leeds fan who ran onto the pitch and blind-sided him.

Kirkland received treatment on the pitch and was visibly shocked by his ordeal, but was able to continue the match.
