Swindon Town manager Paolo Di Canio used his post-match acknowledgements at the end of his side’s Capital One Cup defeat to Aston Villa to give a couple of end of season betting tips to all those in attendance at the Country Ground.

The Italian appeared to demonstrate in his on-pitch forecast that the Robins will be getting promoted this season, while Villa will be departing the Premier League.

Di Canio has since claimed that he was merely pointing out that the Swindon fans had been lounder than their Premier League opponents. If that’s the case, his sign language isn’t up to much and surely he’s stating the obvious: a home crowd will generally be louder than the away support.
