It was only a matter of time.
Edgar Davids has been in charge of Barnet for over a month, so his first sending off for the Bees was probably overdue. Well, no longer, as the Dutchman was given his marching orders for a second yellow card after crunching into James Beattie (as if that is a League Two battle).
After the game, Davids gave his opinion on what looked a fairly regulation yellow card:
He was dropping like a hot potato. I didn’t want to give him a welcome. There is no individual vendetta or targeting a person because that’s nonsense. I don’t say it’s deserved because you have to look at the match. Was it a game that deserved a red card? No.
Course not Edgar. Course not.
