Arsenal legend Ian Wright brands Arsene Wenger supporters ‘deluded’

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger would have been sacked were it not for his “unique position”, club legend Ian Wright has said.

The Frenchman has usually been able to rely on the unwaivering public support of his former charges since taking charge of the Gunners, but Wright told Absolute Radio that anyone still supporting Wenger is deluded.

He branded fans who gather behind the ‘In Arsene We Trust’ slogan as the “deluded ones” who are “out in the wilderness”.

Wright also suggested that Wenger was lucky to still have a job.

He said: “I wouldn’t say ‘surely he has to go’, but it is a unique position he’s in because I think any manager in any country in any world with a record like this and no prospects of light at the end of the tunnel, they would’ve been gone.”

Wrighty, how true. It’s brilliant that you’ve said it and hopefully other Gunners legends will do the same. Nothing will improve until Wenger’s gone.

Thing is Ian, you had your day just like the other bunch sticking their noses in like Merson, Winterburn, Keown, Parlour etc, we respected you as players when you were on the pitch, but that was then we couldnt care less about you now, you and the likes of Merson are Chelsea fans anyway so your love for Arsenal is false and plastic. Were the ones that pay our hard cash to watch this rubbish, you get in through the back door leaving your wealth in your bank accounts, Wenger needs to GO!!
