Tottenham left-back Benoit Assou Ekotto has previously mentioned that he doesn’t much care for watching football when he’s not playing, but he’s taken things to a new level.

The Cameroon international tweeted to outline the importance of the point Spurs had picked up at Everton yesterday. Only later did he discover that a late goal from Nikica Jelavic had seen his team-mates return to London empty-handed.

He tweeted: “Still 1 point! May b at the end of the season. This point ll b importante for us! Stay positif!!!! LoL coys”

But he later followed that up with: “Oh noooo. BAD end for us!!! I just saw it! :-( “
