Ronaldo’s career never found time for a move to England… until now.
The former Brazilian striker is set to join Sir Martin Sorrell’s WPP advertising agency for a work placement. The double World Cup winner has set up a marketing firm since hanging up his boots and is now keen to learn all the tricks of the trade.
He said: “Eighteen years have passed and I’ve hardly studied at all. I feel a great need to become a student again.
“I’ve learned a lot in life, travelling, living abroad, just in the school of life.
“But I also have to immerse myself in something. Learning from Martin will be perfect. I won’t leave him alone, I’ll be asking him questions all day, just like a striker. He’s going to have to tell me everything.”
The 36-year-old will be based in London during his placement. The striker in the agency’s five-a-side team has got to have some concerns that his starting position might be under threat.
