Harry Redknapp doesn’t want to spend money, QPR spend £35million on Christopher Samba
He just can’t believe his luck can he? After a period of time out of the game, Harry Redknapp is back doing what he knows best, spunking millions on footballers.
It has been confirmed that alongside Loic Remy (fee of £8m, contract worth £18m), QPR have today signed Christopher Samba from Anzhi. The defender will cost £12.5m and has been given a four-and-a-half year deal worth £100,000 per week. Anzhi are not a selling club, and when a rich Russian outfit think that you have offered silly money, that is exactly what you have done.
The full value of those two deals is around £62million, and yet QPR are at the bottom of the Premier League, spending over 150% of their turnover on wages. It’s madness.
Harry must be furious about such lavish spending. After all, in December he had this to say:
I don’t want to spend the owners’ money really.
I don’t really want to see the owners have their pants taken down like they have in the past
You shouldn’t be paying huge wages when you have a stadium that holds 18,000 people
If QPR go down and suffer financial ruin (a real possibility), this man should never again be allowed within a football club.
