Manchester City star Mario Balotelli seeks solace in the club chaplain

Manchester City are hoping their club chaplain will help to diffuse the training ground bust-up that saw a physical altercation between Mario Balotelli and Roberto Mancini.

It’s emerged that the 22-year-old striker had been having regular one-to-one sessions with Rev Peter Horlock before the incident as he attempts to curb the behaviour that has left question marks over his City future. Rev Horlock was informed about yesterday’s clash and is reportedly due to meet Balotelli later today.

Both Balotelli and Mancini are churchgoers, so City are now banking on divine intervention putting an end to the pair’s rift.

Rev Horlock, who has performed his voluntary support role at the club for more than a year, will now attempt to stop the problem derailing City’s attempts to retain the Premier League title.
