Reading’s Jimmy Kebe fools Twitter regarding Newcastle move

Footballers’ ‘banter’ is normally so woeful that it is best to ignore if at all possible for the sake of sanity.

However, credit must go to Reading’s Jimmy Kebe for his practical joke on Twitter that fooled all media outlets and supporters of both clubs.

Kebe started by posting the following Tweet:

“On my way to Newcastle, having medical then sign a 4 years contract. Thank you all for your support you’ve been outstanding !!!!”

Cue media meltdown as agencies fought to release the story through their Twitter feeds, all the while wondering how they could have missed the deal’s progression.

Fifteen minutes later, after letting the world lose its sh*t, Kebe then tweeted:

“Oups i thought if you’re french and play football u just pop in to Newcastle and sign a contract ???? Not a chance of leaving #LoveReadingFc#”

Geuinely witty stuff from a football. Well played Sir Jimmy (not that one, come on).
