U15 team Huncoat United win their first game in five years

The first cut is the deepest and all that, so Huncoat United of Lancashire will be hoping that they have finally caught the winning habit, after going five years without a win. The only Youtube video of the club is above, which potentially bears no relation to the team in question!

The team had lost 93 games and conceded 933 goals since last tasting victory, before a 2-0 defeat of Brierfield Celtic made everyone’s season.

And because the team was only formed five years ago, it was their first ever win.

Manager Paul Chadwick had this to say:

We might be the worst team in Britain but we’re also the happiest. All the boys were jumping up and down at the final whistle. I joined in and so did the parents. I don’t think they’re world beaters just yet.

No, Paul, you’re probably right there.

Yep, video bears no relation to the side in question! Well done Paul, Saleem and the boys.
