Zambian goalkeeper takes a lovely penalty against Nigeria

Whilst everyone loves a scoring goalkeeper, this one is cheating somewhat. And that’s because Kennedy Mweene is the new Jose Luis Chilvert or Rogerio Ceni, in that he takes a mean penalty.

Mweene showed off his skill at a very opportune moment for his Zambian side as they gained a spot kick after 84 minutes of their group game against Nigeria.

The goalkeeper was seen muttering under his breath to calm himself down but he then strode up and just stroked (that really is the only word for it) the ball into the top right hand corner of the net. As Mweene himself will know, there is no goalkeeper in the world that will save a penalty like that.

Zambia held on for the 1-1 draw, leaving them level on points with their opponents.
