Football’s authorities don’t always get things right these days, but whether it was the decision of the FA or Capital One, someone needs to be congratulated for this one.
The Capital One Cup will be presented to the captain of either Bradford City or Swansea City tomorrow, and the trophy will be presented by Fabrice Muamba. Muamba was forced to retire last year after he collapsed during an FA Cup third round tie with Spurs last year.
Interviewed regarding the honour, Muamba said:
“It’s been such an exciting tournament this year and it will be a great honour to be presenting the trophy to the winners. I know it will be a very special atmosphere on Sunday.”
Well done, would much rather someone like Muamba than an old stuff in a suit.
