Cheick Tiote has been arrested on suspicion of fraud and had his car seized.

The 26-year-old Newcastle star was arrested near the club’s training ground after being stopped by police on suspicion of fraud relating to driving offences.

The £75,000 Chevrolet Camaro he was driving has been seized by Northumbria Police.

Police enquiries are ongoing, but Tiote is expected to play for the Magpies in their Europa League match against Metalist Kharkiv tomorrow evening.
