Didier Drogba might have left behind the physicality of the Premier League, but it’s now defenders in Turkey who have to contend with his brute force.
A good case in point: on Monday night the Galatasaray striker hospitalised Orduspor’s David Barral in an accidental clash of heads.
In his efforts to get a trademark Drogba header on the end of a corner, Didier instanded planted one on Barral’s skull. The Spanish defender was knocked unconscious and had to be taken to hospital.
But Drogba explored his softer side by visiting his injured opponent in his sick bed.
