Spurs goalkeeper Brad Friedel had a rough night at the hands of Lyon supporters during last night’s Europa League clash.
It seems the French side’s fans had taken exception to the fact that everyone’s favourite near-geriatric goalie was keeping former Lyon hero Hugo Lloris out of the side.
But Friedel clearly enjoyed having his say when, in the 90th minute, Moussa Dembele scored the goal that knocked Lyon out. The American made a gesture towards the fans to suggest that all their chat had not had much impact.
After the match, he tweeted: “I thought second half performance was solid from us tonight. Great to be in next round and VERY happy to have last word w the Lyon fans.”
