With no outlandish transfers being completed on Transfer Deadline Day, the biggest talking point was Peter Odemwingie’s failed attempt to force a move to QPR.

The Nigerian international travelled to west London without permission from West Brom, causing a bizarre stand-off in which Odemwingie was left in the club’s car park to avoid accusations that the Hoops had broken any rules to bring him in for talks.

The situation inspired Everton midfielder to pen the following ditty: “Hey, I just drove here. And this is crazy. I’m in your car park. So sign me maybe.”

Odemwingie faces a pretty awkward return to the Hawthorns this morning.
