OFI Crete’s floodlights fall into the club’s car park
You think that the weather has been hard to you recently, with all the snow causing football matches to be off? And you may think that you have money problems after the latest budget?
Well, on both of those issues, Crete wins. Greece’s economy is failing, with the island relying on tourism, and now the weather is playing havoc with the country’s top football club.
OFI Crete’s Theodoros Vardinogiannis Stadium was damaged during recent heavy winds, but the most damage was done when one of the floodlights incredibly blew over into the car park. The car park was reasonably full, and the floodlight squashed a number of cars.
Very lucky that no-one was seriously hurt.
