Bristol City manager Sean O’Driscoll with tannoy music after relegation

When you have had some horrid news, the last thing you want is to be patronised, and Bristol City manager Sean O’Driscoll certainly failed to see the funny side of a joke at Ashton Gate in midweek.

With the home side’s relegation confirmed after defeat at home to Birmingham City, the man in charge of the music decided to pump ‘Always look on the bright side of life’ out as the players were traipsing off the field.

O’Driscoll did not take too kindly to the music:

“That just about sums up some of the things that are happening at this football club and it maybe another thing we have to put right.

“It disappointed me and it made the players angry as well.

“It was crass and totally unnecessary. I’m not happy with the powers that be for allowing that to happen”
