We offer our humblest apologies for being a touch late to this because there really is no excuse whatsoever. For what plays above is the oddest (but more importantly most calamitous) set piece routine in the history of modern football.
SC Weiz of Austria are the culprits for this steaming pile of faeces, which begins with the rather odd tactic of having two players knelt before the defensive wall for a free kick. The perceived benefits of this are fairly absent, but we can only assume the two players had a plan.
Whether than plan was having the ball booted into their face by a team mate is also open for debate, but we suspect that it was not exactly what was hoped for, particularly for the poor gentleman with the bleeding face.
