Matthew Le Tissier signs for Guernsey FC at 44 years of age
In this country we have a great affection for the one-club man, a demonstration of loyalty in an industry in which that quality is rarely displayed. Even better when that club is not one of the largest in the league.
Well, ladies and gentleman, sometimes even your heroes let you down, because we can now report that Matthew Le Tissier is no longer a one-club man.
The 44-year-old has come out of retirement to sign for non-league Guernsey FC, his hometown club. We recently brought you the news of Guernsey’s impressive fixture congestion, and it seems they have turn to their favourite football son to help out at a time of need. However, looking at Le Tissier, is he really the man to play two games in two days anymore?
