It’s National Regret Not Signing Robert Lewandowski Day today. After Blackburn’s contribution comes this effort from Tottenham.

Spurs legend Steve Archibald has revealed that he offered Lewandowski to his former club in 2009. At that stage the Lech Poznan striker would have been a snip at less than £5million.

Archibald, who has worked as a football agent since hanging up his boots, took to Twitter after the Poland international had demolished Real Madrid in last night’s Champions League semi-final.

He wrote: “Just a note of interest for Spurs fans, I offered Robert lewandowski to Spurs when he was stll playing in Poland, for less than 5m, pity!”

Before a mob armed with pitchforks gathered outside White Hart Lane, Archibald added: “To be fair, when they said no I offered him to other clubs who also said no!”

Plus, what he can he do that Emmanuel Adebayor can’t do. You know, if he was inclined to do anything.

if lewandowski turned out to be a flop, would Archie still be telling everyone this?
