Video: Stefano Sorrentino forgets how this backpass lark works (Palermo vs Bologna)
Palermo keeper Stefano Sorrentino suffered an absolute howler at the weekend when he appeared to momentarily forget the backpass rule.
He received the ball from team-mate Michel Morganella – not the greatest backpass you’ll ever see, but manageable. Rather than clearing the ball with his feet, Sorrentino opts to half think about making a save before simply diving over the top of the ball.
Bologna’s Manolo Gabbiadini is the man happy to kick the ball if Sorrentino doesn’t want to, and he puts it into the back of the net.
