Leyton Orient sign player after Twitter approach
Leyton Orient have signed Shaun Batt after opening discussions about a possible transfer on Twitter.
Former O’s loanee Batt tweeted some polite well wishes to his former team-mates for their forthcoming campaign.
But Orient owner Barry Hearn jumped in to ask the striker to return to the club on a permanent basis.
He tweeted: “Worth talking to us? Big plans for next season. London club. Plus we actually want you!”
The 26-year-old, who scored three goals in his 13 loan games last season, made it clear he was keen on the move and the pair made plans to meet up.
And just days after the exchange above, former Millwall player Batt has now completed his move to the League One side.
