Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas consoles Italian counterpart Gianluigi Buffon after Confederations Cup penalties
What a sportsman. Not content with being just about the best goalkeeper in the world for the last decade, Spain and Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has demonstrated that he he is also a bloody good bloke.
After Spain had won through in the Confederations Cup semi-final after a penalty shoot-out, Casillas did not run off to celebrate with the rest of his team, but instead went over to console his opposite number Gianluigi Buffon.
Italy had actually dominated the match for large parts, and had numerous chances to win the tie before extra time. Casillas himself made a series of impressive saves to keep Spain level, but it is these sort of touches that help to make the Confederations Cup such an enjoyable tournament.
