Chelsea negotiate compensation package for West Brom youngster Izzy Brown

Chelsea have all but signed hotly-tipped West Brom youngster Izzy Brown.

The 16-year-old is already training with the Blues while the two clubs negotiate over a compensation package for the Baggies.

Brown, who made his debut for Steve Clarke’s side against Wigan at the end of last season, will slot in behind David Luiz as the player with the second biggest hairdo in Chelsea’s squad.

The player joined Albion as a 14-year-old, but his time at the Hawthorns always looked likely to be a mere transition. The club has previously allowed him to go on trial with Arsenal, and a move to one of the Premier League big boys was always looming.

The skillful midfielder was the Baggies’ academy player of the year last season.

So that’s all right then. What’s the point in setting up a very expensive top Academy when the system allows the biggest clubs to poach your academy players? Is it worth clubs maiantaining and academy in the future? This is the third time it’s happened to WBA in the last three seasons. Disgusting.
