Liverpool chase Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri
With the arrival of Thiago Alcantara at Bayern Munich, it would seem that they have a surplus of midfielders.
Franck Ribery, Javi Martinez, Arjen Robben, Mario Gotze, Thomas Muller, Luiz Gustavo, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Toni Kroos seems plenty enough support for the club’s new purchase, and it appears that Liverpool may be looking to take advantage of what may be on offer.
Reports suggest that Liverpool may make an offer for the Bundesliga club’s Swiss winger Xherdan Shaqiri.
Shaqiri has only been in Germany for 18 months after a €12million move from FC Basel, but has largely failed to establish himself in the first team, despite his wonderkid status.
The winger is still just 21, however, meaning that Bayern would surely command a high fee for the player? That certainly rings true with estimates that it would take £20million to prize Shaqiri away from German clutches.
