Oh dear, it appears that Liverpool won’t be getting their man.
After weeks of chasing Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, aiming for a purchase around £20million, it seems that Bundesliga runners-up Borussia Dortmund have nipped in to capture the Armenian international.
German newspaper Bild broke the bad news, indicating that Dortmund officials had flown to the Ukraine to negotiate a deal for Mkhitaryan. It is thought that the promise of Champions League football was greater than Liverpool and the Premier League’s draw.
Can’t really blame him for that decision, and Brendan Rodgers will still have the money to splash elsewhere on his attacking options, options that are already looking fairly substantial.
One benefit is that it vastly reduces the amount of times we have to crtl + c, ctrl + v his name into stories.
