Manchester United are on the verge of launching a £60m for Spurs star Gareth Bale.
That’s according to reports in the Daily Mirror, suggesting that the champions are about to kickstart their quiet summer on the transfer front.
United’s vice chairman Ed Woodward has returned home early from the club’s pre-season tour of Asia and Australia. Working on a deal for Bale is said to be one of the reasons he cut his trip short.
Although Spurs remain determined to keep hold of their Welsh winger, United will test their resolve with a serious bid.
They are keen to secure a marquee signing to launch David Moyes’ reign and pacify fans in the event that Wayne Rooney leaves the club.
