Tottenham are preparing to sell midfielder Tom Huddlestone with Sunderland favourites to sign him, according to reports in the Evening Standard.
The 26-year-old – a £2.5m signing from Derby in 2005 – has struggled to impose himself since Andre Villas Boas took charge at White Hart Lane.
He made just 11 Premier League starts last season and his prospects of first-team action will be even more limited when Brazil international Paulinho completes his move to Spurs.
Huddlestone is also said to be a target of other clubs, including Premier League new boys Hull. The decisive factor is likely to be which of the sides in the top flight’s lower echelons can get closest to the England international’s current wages.
