Your whistle-stop guide to the latest Premier League arrivals
Name: Marc Muniesa
Signed from: Barcelona
Did you know?
Muniesa became the second youngest player to represent Barca when he made his debut as a 17-year-old in 2009. Unfortunately, he was (harshly) sent-off just minutes into his substitute appearance against Osasuna.
What’s the deal?
In a move that’s got Potters fans looking for other signs of an impending apocalypse, the young Barcelona centre-back has moved to Stoke on a free transfer.
He has signed a four-year contract at the Britannia Stadium just a couple of weeks after winning the European Under-21 Championships with Spain.
What do they say?
“My season only finished a fortnight ago when the European Championship ended, but I can’t wait to get started for Stoke. I would start tomorrow if the club asked me to.”
“Marc has been well-schooled by Barca. Technically, he’s a very good player and I’ve no doubts he will be an excellent addition to our squad.”
