Arsenal are lining up a bid for Valencia goalkeeper Vicente Guaita, according to reports in Spain.
Valencia-based Superdeporte claim that the bench-warming keeper is due for talks with the Gunners today.
He is reportedly unhappy to be playing second fiddle to Diego Alves and has been linked with moves elsewhere throughout the summer.
Barcelona were linked with the 26-year-old, but it is now claimed that Arsene Wenger wants to bring him in as competition for Wojcech Szczesny.
Despite the media speculation that he is unsettled, Guaita recently signed a contract extension to keep him at the club until June 2015 and Valencia would rather keep hold of him.
The prospect of Wenger triggering the keeper’s £25m release clause does not seem likely.
