Loic Remy is on his way to Newcastle United to complete a medical.
The QPR striker is heading to Tyneside to undergo the requisite checks and discuss personal terms ahead of a move, according to The Chronicle’s Lee Ryder.
The Frenchman has been widely tipped to join the Magpies on a 12-month loan deal. And it appears that is now coming into fruition.
Director of football Joe Kinnear yesterday indicated that a deal was imminent.
Asked if Remy was expected to join Alan Pardew’s squad, he told Sky Sports News: “Yeah I think very much, so I would like to think we are very, very close to agreeing that.
“I would think maybe Monday or Tuesday we will be a position to say yea or nay, but I am very happy about how that deal is going at the moment.”
Remy scored six goals in 14 games for QPR after joining in January.
