New Manchester United manager David Moyes had admitted to feeling “nervousness and trepidation” as he prepares to start his first Premier League season in charge of the club.
But the former Everton boss says he is also looking forward to the new campaign and starting his new job in earnest.
Speaking at a Premier League launch event, he said: “Well, I think there is excitement whenever anybody starts a new job. There’s always a little bit of nervousness and trepidation about the whole thing but overall I’m really looking forward to it.
“I’ve been a manager in the Premier League now for quite a few years and I’ve got some experience from that so I’m really looking forward to it and as I’ve said I am at a great club .
“I’ve got a great group of players who were champions last year and I look forward to taking them on again.”
United captain Nemanja Vidic says Moyes has brought a fresh approach to the club, which the players have enjoyed.
He said: “I think for two months we have worked with David and it was a very good experience. He bring (brought) new things, which is really good.
“We enjoyed it and obviously now is starting the season and obviously pressure is coming and, hopefully, we can keep going to do what we did before and winning the games and be positive.”
United start their title defence at Swansea on Saturday.
