Usain Bolt has dedicated his 100m World Championships victory to Manchester United.
The Jamaican sprinter regained his world title in Moscow yesterday evening, but his thoughts were also on the Community Shield at the time.
After his race, he said: “I think if they [Manchester United] dedicated their win to me and I dedicated my win to them. For me it is just a great to hear that they won the first match of the season.
“I knew that Van Persie scored two goals and I am happy that he started with a positive note, so I am just looking forward to the rest of the season to watch them win and hopefully I can see them before I go home.”
He added: “My favourite player of all the time is Zinedine Zidane and right now is Cristiano Ronaldo.
“And Zlatan [Ibrahimovic]: I just got a signed shirt from him and that’s really cool. He is a great player, one of the best, with no doubt.
“I was hoping that he would move to Manchester United but he didn’t. I guess he got more money at where he is.
“He is awesome player, he is, for a tall guy, he is very good, he makes football very easy, he is just great, he’s just like Zidane. He didn’t move too fast, he takes his time, no matter what you cannot get the football from him.”
