West Ham owner David Gold has hinted that he’s battling to keep midfielder Mohamed Diame
Responding to a tweet asking whether the Hammers would sell the 26-year-old to the Gunners, he wrote: “We are doing everything possible to keep Diame.”
The Senegal international, who joined from Wigan last summer, was a target for Arsenal, Tottenham and Queens Park Rangers in January. Spurs have brought in other targets in midfield and QPR is no longer such an attractive destination since the club’s relegation to the Championship, but under-fire Arsenal could still move for Diame.
Gold’s comments suggest that something is afoot behind-the-scenes.
