Juventus’ ex-Man Utd youngster Paul Pogba ‘rejected Arsenal and Chelsea’
Juventus youngster Paul Pogba says he turned rejected the advances of Arsenal or Chelsea in the summer.
The former Manchester United player claims his love of Juventus meant he only ever wanted to stay in Serie A.
He told Sky Sports Italia: “Were there other clubs chasing me? Yes, but I had my mind only on Juventus.
“At the time I heard of interest from Arsenal and Chelsea, and, in Italy, AC Milan, but there is no one like Juve.
“As for my future? I’m glad to be here. I want to win as many trophies as I can in this shirt.”
He added: “Juventus? I’ve liked them ever since I was a kid, always supported them.
“This club means so much to the French. The best French players have played here and that is why I liked it.”
The 20-year-old’s move to Juventus last summer still irritates many United fans, especially since he put in some outstanding performances for the Italian side last season.
The player revealed that former manager Sir Alex Ferguson had been keen to keep him at Old Trafford.
He said: “Ferguson tried to stop me leaving Manchester United but was unsuccessful.”
