Arsenal are scouting Genoa right-back Sime Vrsaljko as they prepare to lose Bacary Sagna at the end of the season.
As we reported last week, Sagna is set to leave on a free transfer as he seeks a bumper final pay day as he heads towards retirement.
That has led to the Gunners’ scouting network being tasked with finding a new first-choice right-back. Vrsaljko is the first name to emerge, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 21-year-old, who is also a target for Inter Milan, has only been at Genoa since July but has already impressed.
The Croatia international would theoretically go head-to-head with Carl Jenkinson in a battle to become Sagna’s long-term replacement.
