Leyton Orient have banned their squad from playing FIFA 14 on matchday after a slump in the club’s form since the game was released.
That’s despite the fact that the game’s makers, EA Sports, are one of their shirt sponsors.
A club spokesman said: “The staff were quick to implement a ‘no Fifa on a matchday’ rule, however.
“The gaffer suspects several hours playing football on a video game is not conducive to a good performance in the real thing
The League One side had recorded eight wins out of eight before the game’s release, but have two draws from their two games since it hit the shelves.
Manager Russell Slade has ruled that the game cannot be played on the team bus’s PlayStation 3.
