Manchester United are considering a bid for Montpellier playmaker Remy Cabella.
The 23-year-old has had a £100m price tag slapped on him by Montpellier president Louis Nicollin, but United are confident a deal can be done for nearer to £15m.
A creative midfielder comfortable behind a striker or on the wing, Cabella is the latest French player to be compared to Zinedine Zidane.
A playmaker is United boss David Moyes’ top priority when the transfer window reopens, and Cabella could be his chosen option. United’s scouts have been instructed to produce in-depth reports on him ahead of the new year.
Previously a target for Arsenal and Inter Milan, Cabella is considered one of Ligue 1’s top attacking talents.
